Simpsonville, SC consists of both incorporated areas (city limits), as well as unincorporated areas.  This makes deciphering certain statistics a little difficult.  Simpsonville consists of two different zip codes: 29680 and 29681.  The first encompasses most of the city limits, and the areas surrounding Fairview Road, Georgia Road, and the Main Street areas of downtown Simpsonville.  The second (29681) encompasses more of the areas surrounding the Five Forks/Woodruff Road area.  This separation make it slightly difficult to make sense of demographics.

According to the 2000 US Census, the city of Simpsonville has a population of approximately 14,352.  However, the entire 29680 zip code represented a population of approximately 20,044.  The 29681 population according to the 2000 US Census was 30,002.  Therefore the total population at that time was just over 50,000, but the amazing growth Simpsonville has experienced in the last 6 years has probably increased that figure significantly.  In fact, I would venture to guess that the majority of the growth around Greenville in the past 7 years has occurred in the areas to the southeast of downtown Greenville.
